Kick-Ass 2 as the name suggests is the sequel to the 2010 film Kick-Ass. Dave Lizewski/Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is no longer fighting crime, but wants to train to become a better superhero along with Mindy Macready/Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz). This plays out for a while, until Hit Girl stops wanting to be a superhero & have a more normal high school life. This leaves Kick-Ass uncertain of his path, until he discovers a team of superheros (like himself) known as Justice Forever. They are lead by Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey) with their mission being to clean up the street of crime. Meanwhile Chris D’Amico (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) has taken control of his father’s empire & money. He decides that he wants to become the worlds first super villain & renames himself The MotherF***er.  His targets being Kick-Ass along with any other superheroes. Soon a battle between Kick-Ass & the heroes begins against The Motherf***er & the villains begin.

The theme of Kick-Ass 2 like its predecessor is despite being set in a semi real world, it is highly unrealistic. The film combines high levels of brutal violence along with comedy & at times similarities from the comic. The film is not perfect by any means, yet it is always entertaining & provides a fun ride. The beginning is a little slow, yet around 30 minutes in the film picks up. The majority of the cast are well cast & all fit their roles well. Standing out from the film are Jim Carrey & Christopher Mintz- Plasse. When we are introduced to Carrey, its hard to believe that its him as he plays a very different role from what we are used to seeing. Mintz – Plasse despite being the villain, is funny at times & never has a dull moment of screen. The action sequences yet very brutal ( and at times bloody) are also entertaining (if you enjoy this kind of film). The biggest problem within the action is very bad CGI involving a freeway. At times certain aspects of drama are wasted, yet as i say this is not a film to see for dramatic tension. If you enjoy comics, there are some seqments that are taken from the comic of the same name.

Overall Kick-Ass 2 has minar flaws, yet as a fun action film with elements of comedy it achives what it set out to do. Entertain
